Youth Committee
The Youth Committee are a group of young people from across the entire UK who will meet quarterly to ensure GamCare’s work is relevant and meets the needs of young people.
Working alongside our weekly Youth Advisory Board (YAB), the Youth Committee focuses on four key areas, identified by our YAB, which you can see below.
Who can take part?
Any young person aged 11-17 interested can join.
We welcome young people from all communities, backgrounds and beliefs, especially those that feel unheard within society.
Whether you gamble yourself, experiencing gambling related harm, affected by someone else’s gambling or have never gambled at all, you are invited to take part.

Priorities for 2023-24
- Girls, gaming and gambling
- How we can shape prevention and support for different ethnicities, cultures and faiths
- Developing new ways to prevent harm from gambling for all
- Financial literacy and economic empowerment for young people
FAQS
We meet every business year quarter, meaning every 3 months. The dates are set by the Committee, so as we are now recruiting the official date will be set by all successful applicants.
That you are aged 11-17 years old, have experience of being part of a committee, board or panel previously and want to improve our services for young people.
Of course, you can participate in both the YAB and Youth Committee for as long as you want to.
Your contribution will make a difference in how we reach young people in an engaging way to ensure they understand the risks of gambling and know where to get support if they ever need it. By having key focuses this year we can tackle what our Youth Advisory Board have stated are their key focus areas.
Yes, after completing the full year with the Youth Committee we can provide a reference. The reason this is different than participating in the YAB is due to the YAB having weekly sessions.
